It is that of him being free. Like the birds in the trees or the brief instance when Winston and Julia are "rebelling" against Big Brother. What does Winston mean when he says that he loves Julia all the more because she has had scores of sexual encounters? -He means that he loves that fact that she rebels. He likes anything that is
